I am happy to report that we're able to see the balance on the CRA account already this morning. YAY. I was a little upset when I saw that our balance is $3.48 but when I clicked on the details I learned that it's a CREDIT!!! yay, they finally owe us. I had slid a little extra over for the interest for the last week. I can't wait to call our collections agent, plus the fact that the reassessments currently being done will result in more credits so the government will be sending us a cheque- probably not likely until August but we'll take it happily. It's so nice to know that we have finally paid off one debt. It is disappointing that as far as our credit is concerned it doesn't affect us as it was never reported (to our knowledge) and we had ordered copies of our credit reports in February. So, as far as the bank is concerned we still have the same debt load, I guess it would be nice to get the recognition of paying almost $10,000 off.
What's Next...
Well, Mr K is going for his consultation for the Zoom Whitening for his teeth on Thursday and that will take us another two weeks to pay for assuming all goes well. After that we'll focus on paying off his credit card which has a balance of $2000. I have calculated pay off to be September 12th which is the worst case scenario (based on Mr K not making anything extra), so essentially that means that it will be paid before September. Especially realizing that the date for the CRA balance pay off was already the end of September and it is already gone and it's still June. Mr K should be returning starting to travel further out by the end of this week, it's not so enjoyable as he is on the road making for extra long days but the perk is that he gets an allowance once he travels over 50km which results in a surplus on the expense side of his paycheck.
