Nothing too exciting to add after Friday's debt payments. Mr K did spend a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday working at my parents so at some point there will be some extra money from that work. Work there should be winding down sometime soon. The basement renovations are nearing completion although, after that there is some electrical to do in the garage.
Work for Mr K this season is extremely slow and it seems to be going job to job which is pretty scary when you work seasonally. We have our fingers crossed that there will be enough work to keep him working. It definitely confirms his prior decision to make a career change in the fall, as this industry will be hurting. I guess technically many industries are hurting right now. The recession in the U.S.A. has such a widespread effect. Even where I work- our numbers are not very good either. We don't sell to the US but our customers do so through them we are very much below sales right now.
I believe that Canada is in a recession although, we need data from one more quarter to confirm that fact and economic analysts seem to be shying away from that word. hahaha like that makes it untrue. I do realize though that to get out of a recession consumers have to spend money and as soon as you say "recession" good luck on getting people to part with their hard earned cash. As for ourselves we have been living as if we're in a recession since we started this debt plan.
Changes since starting our budget this year. Already our gas budget is not enough! This is from January- the cost of gas is surging too quickly and it is properly accounted for. Secondly- because Mr. K has to eat so much processed foods his allotment for groceries barely covers his lunches for the week and doesn't cover any breakfast or dinners. I have been stretching this where possible by making extra dinners at my parents and bringing it over.
We have to stay positive. Our money already is not stretching as far as it used to and it hasn't even been a full year.
