Free & Clear

Finally received the email from Honda Finance we have been officially released from our lease and monthly payment of $537.47/ month. What a relief!!

As you know we have been toying with many different ideas for vehicles and I think we finally have a plan. We are going to spend not more than $5000 and Mr K can get a pick up truck of his choosing. (hopefully we can get it for even less)

This will be a huge financial savings for the next couple of years (hopefully) and allows him to have the truck he really wanted- I wanted a vehicle that was suitable for children but a vehicle for $5000 doesn't have to last 5 years so I'm okay with it. It will also buy us time until my car payment is completed in November 2011, my payment is $657.00/month. We don't intend on repeating that but if at that time we need another vehicle it will be a much more comfortable payment.

It will also make it much easier for us to qualify for our mortgage with a smaller debt load. Hopefully have room left over as unfortunately we will likely be buying appliances on credit :o( I know, I don't like it either~
We sort of faux pas'd when we bought the house, we originally were looking at townhomes and semi's and they have appliances, we didn't realize detached homes do not come with appliances!! It sure pays to be in the know.
