Design Centre Appointment is Today!!

Today is the day where we find out how much damage we'll have for our house upgrades. Our appointment is today at 2 o'clock, and they allow 3 hours. I spoke with our design consultant and was told we would be having two appointments- the first is structural the second is colour selections etc.

As we are getting way too busy we can't find anywhere to fit in our second appointment so we are going to make every effort to get everything done today- now I'm really excited. I think it will make it start to feel real. Okay so we gave them $20,000 but really we don't have anything to show for it.

The only con at this point- they changed their upgrade policies in the last month and we now need to provide 35% upfront, EVEN if we're rolling the amount into our mortgage. A lot of people are very upset and so are we that's $7000+ we need to borrow until we can roll it into our mortgage. When we purchased the rule was if your upgrades were less than $20,000 nothing was required.

The plan- We have a credit line that is at a great rate 4.16 BUT even better I have some Visa Cheques with a low rate of 2.99 until May 31st. So we'll use the visa cheques and transfer the balance to the credit line after the expiry. Still- a month ago we wouldn't have had to pay interest on borrowing this amount! They sure don't want to make things easier for anyone in these economic times.
