It's so nice to be back to getting out of debt instead of increasing what we owe.
PROMOTION!!
I got a promotion and since we have a wage and hiring freeze I assumed my salary would remain the same but not so I got a decent increase which is fantastic as otherwise I would not have gotten any increase this year at all!
MORTGAGE
We also met with our mortgage broker recently and we are looking into what is called a Purchase + mortgage, which will allow us to finish the basement so that when my sister and law and her family move out we will have a finished basement that we will be able to rent out. This will allow us to bring in extra income once they leave as we have not determined length of time for them to stay with us. The minimum is one year. But with the basement apartment completed we will be able to bring in extra needed income after they leave.
