Wow...Time Flies

It has now been 4 months since we moved into our new home. We had some conservative plans for our renovations and furnishing of our new home. That didn't work out so well :o(

We made a really bad financial decision- we spent money that we didn't have. What happened is that we had an agreement for someone to stay with us for the year so I included that amount in our budget for the year, now they are moving out after 1 1/2 months so we overspent and will be out about $10k this year.

I realize it was a bad decision, live and learn and we should have treated it as bonus money and paid off debt or wait until it came in, etc. Lesson learned

Now- we are really tight watching ever penny, it's very uncomfortable. A couple of weeks ago I went to pay a bill- as I always pay them the day that I get the bill and there wasn't money and I had to wait 2 days, I have never had that experience in my life and it was awful.

At this point we have renewed our commitment to our debt as we don't have a choice if we don't we could lose our house. I don't see that happening and only because every penny will be watched but we have put ourselves in a precarious position and I'm not enjoying it.
